Adelaide Hall presents a lineup of fierce female-fronted talent. Headlined by alt-metal band Monstrosa, and featuring support from Mad Iris and Heavenly Blue. Join us on August 24th for a night of unforgettable music!

Monstrosa

Monstrosa is an alternative metal artist from Toronto. They mix metal riffs, 2000s emo rock, and melodic vocals that unapologetically touch on women empowerment, queer liberation, and mental health stigma. After the release of their self-titled debut album in May 2020, they delved back into writing and reemerged with a vengeance in 2022, where their electric live shows became a staple to their name. Monstrosa’s second full-length album “Mild Fantasy Violence” was released in September of 2023 and has reached over 47K streams on Spotify. They are currently tracking their new EP which promises to be the heaviest yet.

Mad Iris

Mad Iris is a Toronto based garage rock band with Kaiya Rosie on lead vocals, Ela Hinatsu on bass, Patrick Muldoon on lead guitar, and Josh Pryce on drums. Each member of the band is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and visual artist, making Mad Iris an on-going art project. In their music, the band combines scratchy feminine vocals with kaleidoscopic guitar melodies and loud, overdriven bass and drums -- an amalgamation of punk, grunge, psych, and youth culture.

Heavenly Blue

Heavenly Blue is a women led four piece band based in Toronto. Their sound draws inspiration in a myriad of genres ranging from soft melodic rock to punk and riot grrl influences. The queer centric band is home to a group of musicians that dominate in their field, and all together create a dynamic on stage that makes you want you get up there with them.
