About The Event
Get ready for an electrifying evening with local favourites ex-cowboy and Earth Freaks, along with Vancouver friends worrywart and checkedout!
ex-cowboy: ex-cowboy is a band playing music in lək̓ʷəŋən territory (victoria, bc)
Earth Freaks: From spiralling fuzzed out guitars and hypnotic driving rhythms, rise the psychedelic soundscapes of Earth Freaks. Since washing up on Victoria’s shoreline a year and a half ago, the quartet is quickly establishing themselves as a staple of the underground rock scene. With explosive live shows and commanding songwriting, Earth Freaks captivate their audience with the impact of a sonic atom bomb. Resulting in a raw and unforgettable musical experience that refuses to disappoint.
worrywart: worrywart blossoms from friendship, stitched tight in stretching the edges of sounds that attached them to music in the first place. Making noise for queer love and celebrating tender explorations of anxiety they bring a sparkling grunge energy to performances. Their dynamics on stage demonstrate a clear commitment to make every show electric and memorable for everyone they share space with. worrywart urges you to dance in spiteful joy, and hold your people through the collapse. xoxo
checkedout: Fresh off the wake of Tim Heckers pivotal release of ravedeath 1972, four veterans of the scene have teamed up to explore the meaning of noise. Exploring dynamics and sonic layering, guitarist Clayton (“blade master”), guitarists Emma (“big things coming”), bassist Adam (“Adam”) and drummer Jake (“fast-hands”) form east Vancouver’s newest grunge gaze band: checkedout
