About The Event
ERATO Ensemble presents an intimate concert for voice(s), clarinet and piano. Drawing on timeless themes of love - romantic, spiritual, natural and whimsical - Songs of Innocence & Experience promises a musical kaleidoscope of emotions and feelings, from the romantic ache of Hahn's "Chansons Gris" to the metaphysical poetry of William Blake. Plus three works by Vancouver composers: the funny fractured fairy tales of the Seven Dwarfs to David MacIntyre's tender cycle "Because of Love", and the rarely-heard "Limbo" by Jocelyn Morlock.
Repertoire: Michael Head - The Singer Reynaldo Hahn - Chansons Gris Ralph Vaughan Williams - Ten Blake Songs William George - The Seven Dwarfs, Each On His Deathbed, Remember Snow White Jocelyn Morlock - Limbo David MacIntyre - Because of Love
Musicians: Melanie Adams, mezzo-soprano William George, baritone Mike Brown, clarinet Anna Levy, piano
